Palestine history

September 13, 1993

The Oslo Accords, a#nbsp;peace agreement between the PLO and Israel, is#nbsp;signed in#nbsp;Washington, D.C.
Oh, September 13th, a#nbsp;fateful day indeed,
When two foes came together, in#nbsp;hopes to#nbsp;succeed,
In#nbsp;crafting a#nbsp;peace, that would end their strife,
And bring an#nbsp;end to#nbsp;a#nbsp;long and painful life.
In#nbsp;Washington, D.C., they signed the accord,
The PLO and Israel, with one accord,
To#nbsp;end the violence, and to#nbsp;pave the way,
For a#nbsp;future of#nbsp;peace, and a#nbsp;brighter day.
And as#nbsp;they shook hands, and smiled with grace,
The world looked on, in#nbsp;awe of#nbsp;this embrace,
For it#nbsp;was a#nbsp;moment, of#nbsp;hope and light,
That banished the darkness, and dispelled the night.
But alas, it#nbsp;was not to#nbsp;last, for long,
As#nbsp;both sides struggled, with right and wrong,
And the peace that was promised, was never found,
And the wounds of#nbsp;the past, still left a#nbsp;profound.
Oh, September 13th, a#nbsp;day that we#nbsp;recall,
When peace was promised, but never came at#nbsp;all,
May we#nbsp;learn from this, and strive for a#nbsp;better fate,
And work towards a#nbsp;future, that’s free from hate.
